1940 Ford Street Rod
Pickup Truck

Model Year History Overview:
This model truck series began in 1938 using components similar in appearance to its passenger cars such as the hood, grill and windshield styling. The spare tire was placed on the right-hand side between the cab and the rear fender.
Many people believe the 1940 Ford Pickup truck is one of the best-looking pickups ever made.  It featured passenger car front end styling, fender-integrated headlights with egg-shaped rims and a vertical-bars grille.  This 1940 Ford pickup was discovered in Northern Arizona.  It is a frame-off restoration using Heidt’s Mustang II front end with Carrea coil overs, 11-inch power front disc brakes and Ford 8-inch drum rear brakes and TCI suspension.  The chassis rides on Firestone tires with original Boyds 15-inch wheels.  It is powered by a 350 cubic inch 350 horsepower balanced engine.  The body features a V-butt windshield, smoked glass, rolled rear pan, flush turn and brake lights.  A third brake light is installed in the cab belt line.  The rear bed has polished stainless steel stripes.  The two-color gray leather interior features 6-way power seats.  The overhead console contains the window and stereo controls.  The dash has hidden A/C controls, gold trimmed VDO gauges and a Grant steering wheel with a chrome IDIDIT tilt steering column.

1941 Would be the last year of this model pickup truck series.
