1957 Thunderbird “E-Bird”
Very Rare “E” Model (Dual 4-Barrel Carburetors)

Model Year History Overview:
In the three years Ford produced 53,166 Classic Thunderbirds, but Ford produced only 1,441 E-Birds out of 21,380 Thunderbirds built in 1957.  (The VIN for all E-Birds began with the letter “E”)  In 1957 Thunderbird continued the trend started in 1955 offering a small and racy car with a unique look and personality that would set it apart from its contemporaries.  The 1957 model featured engine power boosts and all new sheet metal and interior with few carry-over items from the ’55 -’56 models.  New for ’57 was a Dial-A-Matic memory seat option.  Although the original two-seated T-Bird was only manufactured for three years, it was so advanced in concept that its influence in the automobile industry is still being felt.  Production of these classics ended in 1957.  Incidentally, the 1955 Thunderbird outsold the 1955 Chevrolet Corvette 20 to 1.  This car has won four Gold Concours Awards.  It was restored in 2001.
