1966 Pontiac GTO

History Overview:
The Pontiac GTO started life as a Pontiac Tempest in Mid-1964, the first of what soon became known as the “Muscle Cars.”  Equipped with proper options, a GTO could deliver unprecedented performance for a six-passenger automobile.  This car could be ordered in relatively mild-mannered form with automatic transmission and a 335 hp engine.  Performance enthusiasts could for less than $600 add a 389 cid engine, quick steering, stiff shocks,  dual exhaust, premium tires, a 4-speeed gearbox, metallic brake linings, heavy duty radiator, and a limited slip differential.  An additional $115 would buy a 360 hp engine.  Sport car purists took umbrage at Pontiac’s use of GTO (grand turismo omologato), an international term for production-class racing cars but it was more commonally called the "Goat" by muscle car fans.

This car has had a frame-off restoration with every nut and bolt being replaced.
