1967 Chevrolet Chevelle History Overview: In 1968 Chevrolet’s top-of-the-line model was called the Caprice. Next in Chevrolet’s size hierarchy was the intermediate Chevelle, introduced in 1964 to compete with Ford’s Fairlane. The Chevelle was conventional: front engine, rear drive, coil springs in front, leaf springs in the rear. It provided almost as much interior room as the Impala, but had more sensibly sized exterior. In effect, it was a revival of the ideally proportioned, middle-wheelbase “Classic” Chevrolet of 1955-57. Sales went nowhere but up, from 328,400 units in its first year to nearly 440,000 by 1969. The addition of numerous performance options and its own Super Sport variations it greatly enhanced Chevelle’s appeal. This car has only been driven 107 miles since restoration (2003). Engine: freshly rebuilt 396 CID, forged crank, 10.5 to 1 pistons, ported and polished 280 Magnum Competition cam, roller rockers, Accel ignition, Hooker headers w/ceramic finish, Edelbrock air gap intake manifold with a Holley double-pumper carburetor and Griffin 4-core radiator. Transmission: freshly rebuilt 4-speed Muncie M21, 10-spline with Hurst Shifter. Clutch: New Luc 11” with ceramic buttons. Rear End: 12-Bolt 3.73 with Eaton Posi-Traction, all new interior with all new glass. This car was fully restored in 2003. Total 1967 Chevrolet Car Production: 1,704,537 Vehicle Mileage: 107 miles (since restoration) Stock Number C 185
