1934 Packard Twin-Six
Dual Cowl Sport Phaeton
Custom Coachwork By, Dietrich

Model Year History Overview:

Packard cars were produced from 1899 through 1958.  The company started in Warren, Ohio by the Packard brothers, William and James.  For many people, Packard was, in its heyday, “the supreme combination of all that is fine in motorcars,”  “Ask the man who owns one” became the company’s slogan in 1901.  The name, The Ohio Automobile Company was used in 1900-01.  In 1902 it became the Packard Motor Car Company located in Detroit, Michigan.  Twin Sixes and Twelve’s of 1932-34 shared bodies and wheelbases with the upper Eight series.  Despite their prestige and billing as the ultimate Packard’s, the factory-bodied V-12s were originally only $100-200 more than the Deluxe Eights.

This car is a custom-bodied Dietrich sport phaeton.  It sold for $700.00 more than the same type car on the DeLuxe Eight platform.
