1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Convertible

Model Year History Overview:
In 1957 Ford met dealer demand with an all-new line, offering a vast array of V-8 engines from the 190 hp “300” power plant on up to the Thunderbird’s supercharged 312 V-8 with 300 hp.  Overall Ford styling for 1957 was particularly simple for the period.  It featured a clean, full-width rectangular grille; rakish side moldings; and tiny tailfins.  It came in two wheelbases; 116 and 118 inches.  The model lineup was arranged accordingly. There were Customs, Custom 300’s, Fairlanes, and Fairlane 500’s, including a Sunliner convertible, a Skyliner retractable hardtop convertible, and station wagons.  1957 was a good year for Ford Division.  Ford was ahead of Chevrolet for the first time since 1935 in model production by 130 cars.  In the ultra-competitive car world this was considered a substantial victory.

This world class Ford Fairlane 500 convertible is nicely equipped with the items listed above.  It underwent a Quality Rotisserie Restoration by Jerry Miller, the man known for building the finest in 1957-59 Fords.
