1939 Ford Deluxe
Convertible Coupe
Model Year History Overview:
Deluxe models were fully restyled for 1939, distinguished by a vertical stainless steel grille and clean front fenders with flush headlamps.  Prices were reduced $5.00 across the board.  Mechanical changes included column-mounted, instead of floor-mounted, gear shift and hydraulic, instead of mechanical, brakes.
Henry Ford had finally given in on the last point, three years after Chevrolet and 11 years after Plymouth.

  • First year for Ford to feature hydraulic brakes.
  • Last Year for Ford vehicles to offer a rumble seat.
  • Last Year for Ford to offer a 4-door convertible sedan.
